I’ve heard economics described in many ways. Often these aphorisms refer to supply and demand. Demand is dollar votes. There is a tradeoff between guns and butter.

Depending on whom you believe, economics is either the queen of the social sciences or the dismal science. Or both, if you want to be philosophical about it too.

By the numbers, college football is the second-most profitable franchise in sports. It beats out major-league baseball, basketball, hockey, and soccer. Somebody is getting rich, but not the student-athletes.
