To whom it may concern:

In 2011, I was advised that I was a beneficiary named in a number of family trusts. In 2015, I attempted to receive information about these trusts via a trustee, but was referred by the trustee to the attorney whom I believe was responsible for drafting the trust documents (but not necessarily the person responsible for fulfilling my requests). Feeling as though I was getting the run-around, I did not follow up at that time. Suffice it to say, I never received any copies of the trust documents or any accountings therefor, nor have I ever received any distributions from the trusts.

Following my father’s death in July 2024, I renewed my efforts to learn about the trusts. The trustee originally managing the trusts wrote that his duties had been taken over by “replacement trustees.” My father’s second wife did not reply to my letter to her, but instead I received correspondence from her attorney (the original trust attorney) who states that he represents her and claims I am not a beneficiary of any trusts. Meanwhile, my one sister Liz ignored my email wherein I asked her what she knew about the trusts, and my other sister Ruth wrote that she knew nothing about any trusts. I have never received any notifications that any of the trusts have ever been liquidated or that I have ever been removed as a beneficiary.

Let me be up front about the fact that my father and I had been functionally estranged for almost three decades. His second spouse and I do not like each other. My relationships with my siblings are presently nonexistent.

I wish to ascertain (compel disclosure, if necessary) my status with respect to the trusts and whether there is evidence of trustee malfeasance.
