Notes on the card: I was working initially on some homage to Keith Haring as the concept of this year\u2019s holiday card. The \u201cHillary Forward\u201d and Mark<\/em> then took over as my direction for the design; graphical concepts were easy to come by and relatively easy to render. The orientation of the logo took a nosedive after the election results were announced, in keeping with what was a crash-and-burn Hillary Clinton defeat. I left some extra smidgen of space between the logo and the text; it is the passage of time, and the pictorial elements of the narrative in total mark the tricky trajectory from a sad day into a putatively happy season. There is also something dreidel<\/em>-like about the tipped-over logo.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
